RIYADH — Saudi Arabia has expressed its deep appreciation for the unified condemnation and rejection voiced by Arab and Muslim nations in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent statements regarding the displacement of the Palestinian people.
In a statement released on Sunday, the Saudi Foreign Ministry emphasized the Kingdom’s strong opposition to such rhetoric, describing it as an attempt to shift focus away from the ongoing atrocities committed by the Israeli occupation against Palestinians in Gaza.
Firm Support for the Palestinian Cause
“The Kingdom values these firm positions that reaffirm the centrality of the Palestinian cause to the Arab and Muslim world,” the Foreign Ministry stated, underscoring the broad regional consensus in support of Palestinian rights.
Saudi Arabia categorically rejected Netanyahu’s remarks and condemned the large-scale destruction in Gaza, labeling Israel’s military actions as a form of ethnic cleansing. The Kingdom called attention to the severe humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region, emphasizing the urgent need for global intervention. The destruction of homes, hospitals, schools, and essential infrastructure has exacerbated the suffering of the Palestinian people, leading to what the Kingdom described as an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.
Condemnation of Israeli Military Actions
The statement denounced the extremist and occupying mentality that disregards the Palestinian people’s deep-rooted historical, legal, and emotional connections to their homeland. Saudi Arabia strongly criticized the Israeli government’s actions, which have led to the deaths of more than 160,000 people, mostly women and children, stating that these actions reflect a complete disregard for human compassion and moral responsibility. The Kingdom also accused the Israeli government of violating international human rights laws and called upon the international community to hold those responsible accountable.
Reaffirming its unwavering support for Palestinian sovereignty, the Kingdom stressed that Palestinians have an inherent right to their land and cannot be forcibly displaced at the will of the Israeli occupation. “They are not intruders nor immigrants; they are rightful inhabitants of their homeland,” the statement declared. Saudi Arabia also highlighted the historical injustices faced by the Palestinian people, calling for their full recognition and restoration of rights that have been systematically denied for decades.
Call for International Justice and Peace
Saudi Arabia also condemned those who advocate extremist policies, accusing them of systematically obstructing peace efforts. The Kingdom criticized these figures for rejecting Arab-led peace initiatives and engaging in policies of oppression for over 75 years. According to the Foreign Ministry, such violations run counter to international law, justice, and the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter. The Kingdom stressed that peace and stability in the region depend on respecting international legal frameworks and ensuring justice for the Palestinian people.
Reaffirming its commitment to a just resolution, Saudi Arabia insisted that the Palestinian people’s rights remain indisputable and cannot be revoked, regardless of how long the struggle continues. The Kingdom reiterated that achieving peace requires a serious commitment to dialogue, mutual recognition, and the establishment of a viable and independent Palestinian state.
Saudi Arabia further urged the United Nations, the Arab League, and other international organizations to intensify their efforts in addressing the ongoing crisis and to impose necessary sanctions on the Israeli government for its continued violations of human rights. The Kingdom also called on humanitarian organizations to mobilize greater resources to support displaced Palestinians and provide them with essential aid and assistance.
“The only path to lasting peace,” the statement concluded, “is through rational dialogue and the acceptance of peaceful coexistence under the two-state solution.”
Saudi Arabia’s firm stance highlights its ongoing commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and opposing any actions that undermine regional stability and justice. The Kingdom vowed to continue working closely with regional and international partners to advocate for Palestinian rights and push for a resolution that upholds peace, security, and justice for all.
