White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has announced that she is expecting her second child, sharing the personal news with the public on Friday. Leavitt revealed that she and her husband are preparing to welcome a baby girl in May 2026.
In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram, Leavitt wrote, “The greatest Christmas gift we could ever ask for – a baby girl coming in May 2026.” She added that she and her husband are excited to expand their family and look forward to seeing their son take on the role of a big brother.
“My husband and I are thrilled to grow our family and can’t wait to watch our son become a big brother,” she wrote. “My heart is overflowing with gratitude to God for the blessing of motherhood, which I truly believe is the closest thing to Heaven on Earth.”
Leavitt also expressed appreciation for the support she has received in her professional role, particularly from President Donald Trump and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. She credited them for fostering what she described as a “pro-family environment” within the White House.
“I am also extremely grateful to President Trump and our Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for their support, and for fostering a pro-family environment in the White House,” Leavitt added. “2026 is going to be a great year, and I am so excited to be a girl mom!”
At just 28 years old, Karoline Leavitt holds the distinction of being the youngest person to ever serve as White House press secretary. She previously worked in the White House press office during President Trump’s first term and later served as press secretary for his 2024 presidential campaign.
Before returning to national prominence, Leavitt ran for Congress in her home state of New Hampshire in 2022, though her bid was unsuccessful.
Leavitt and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, welcomed their first child, Nicholas “Niko” Robert Riccio, in 2024. With the announcement of their growing family, Leavitt has received an outpouring of congratulations from supporters and colleagues alike.
